This is my 4th year teaching 3rd grade at PHES. However, I began with the Department of Education in New York City in 1997, with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my career as a Teacher's Assistant while I earned my 2nd degree, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2002 from The City College of New York. Being a teacher's assistant has proved to be the most valuable experience that I have been privileged to attain. I began teaching the 3rd grade in 2002. I earned my Master of Science in TESOL, (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Adelphi University in 2005. I also taught the 5th grade and in 2008 I earned an additional educational certificate from Brooklyn College of New York in Educational Leadership: School Building Leader and District Leader. I also provided ESL services as part of a Push-In/Pull-Out program for two years. In 2009, I stepped away from the classroom and had my daughter that very summer. In February 2010, my husband, our daughter and I left Brooklyn, New York and moved here to Surprise, Arizona. In 2012, I gave birth to our son. I taught at our church for 2 years. I have also taught at Awana for 2 years and been a part of our VBS services for 4 years as well. It has been a wonderful experience being a stay-at-home-mom. I have been blessed being home for 6 years. I believe that I have found a deeper sense of self and purpose. We were elated when our daughter was accepted to PEC 5 years ago and I was beyond excited to become a part of this amazing team. I hope to provide you with the same love and support that drew me to be employed here. With that said, "Let's get this year started!!!"
